Why go in June

Dry season, lush rice terraces, calmer than Jul–Aug

About Bali

Bali packs an entire archipelago of moods into one island. Surf breaks and beach clubs cluster around Canggu and Uluwatu in the south, emerald rice terraces step down the hills around Ubud, and a chain of volcanoes — Batur and Agung among them — anchors the wild, temple-dotted interior. Offerings of flowers and incense appear on every doorstep, a daily reminder that this is still very much a living Hindu island.

When to go

June sits right at the start of the dry season, and it's arguably the best month of all. Humidity drops, the rice fields are vivid green, and the heavy crowds of July and August haven't arrived yet. Days hover around 28–31°C with reliable sunshine — perfect for a sunrise hike up to the crater rim on a Mount Batur sunrise trek before the heat builds.

Things to do book tickets & tours

Base yourself in Ubud for the temples, art markets and the famous Tegalalang rice terraces, then head south for the cliffs and surf of the Bukit Peninsula. Cool off with a white-water rafting trip on the Ayung River or island-hop east on a day trip to Nusa Penida for its dramatic cliff beaches. End a day at Uluwatu temple with the cliff-top Kecak fire dance at sunset.
